The Customs Law regulates the import and export of goods from the European Union and imposes numerous obligations on traders related to classification, documentation and settlement of customs duties. Correctly determining the tariff, origin of the goods or customs value is crucial to the security and smoothness of transactions in international trade. At the same time, proper planning of customs processes enables the use of tariff preferences, simplified procedures or AEO status, which translates into real savings.

Customs authorities conduct regular inspections, and any lapse – from misclassification to incorrect declaration – can result in severe financial sanctions and disputes with the administration. Therefore, it is essential not only to mitigate risks, but also to actively use available legal solutions to optimize the supply chain.
